Clear-cuts and Droughts, Wildfires

July 21, 2021 by PWPA

Do clear-cuts contribute to droughts and wildfires?

These images are from Sentinel Hub satellite imagery captured on July 16, 2021. The first image shows the clear-cuts and the overlay (after) is Sentinel’s Moisture Index band showing the relative moisture of the same area. Blue = moisture, shades of yellow, orange and red + ranges of moisture deficit. Red being the most severe.
