Storytelling Workshops (for folks working on forest and watershed issues)

June 16, 2020 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Sharing an Invitation to a free workshop for all folks working on forest and watershed issues!

This summer is a crucial moment for our forests and watersheds in B.C. Covid has pushed people indoors and off the land where logging activities can take place unchecked in communities like ours.

Sharing our stories with the public and elected officials is more important than ever.

This is why several organizations have banded together to make sure that our voices, experiences, and stories are amplified rather than muted in this time of great need.

Organizing For Change, BCCFR, GLADE Watershed, West Coast Environmental Law, STAND.earth, and Canadian Center for Policy Alternatives are working together to support grassroots groups across the province.

They will be hosting online storytelling workshops where you will learn and practice proven techniques to share powerful stories for change. You’ll have a change to meet other grassroots organizers like you from other communities too!

In case you missed the last one, THIS workshop runs Tuesday, June 16th and Thursday, June 18th from 4pm to 5:30pm. Please attend both days. This workshop is free so please support your local groups or our anchor groups if you’re able. (Feel free to attend again if you wish a review)

Please register here to attend!

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

This work will help inform news articles, reports, social media posts and advertising across B.C.  All of the participating organizations will benefit from access to compelling, sharable content (think videos, photos, and posts for social media) for their own online and offline communities. We’ll be building momentum in advance of the next provincial election so that hopeful politicians will be forced to respond to our steady drum beat from authentic, diverse communities speaking out for the security and health of our forests and watersheds.
