At the February members meeting, we had special guest, Michelle Connolly present information about Conservation North, a community non-profit fighting old growth logging, based in Prince George. Her presentation was very relevant to what’s happening in Peachland’s watershed as well. Being a forester and an ecologist Michelle has knowledge of both sides of the forestry story. And she dispelled many of the myths we hear from RPFs who try to justify their damaging practices – like beetle skill preemptive logging, and clear-cutting.

Michelle provided us with her presentation slides which you can view on our site here, in case you weren’t able to attend the meeting.

We’ll be having other special guests through the year and we hope you will join us.  All our meetings are at no cost. But we may twist your arm to volunteer 🙂
