B’s Watershed Watch Update October 15, 2024

My Observations

Date: October 15, 2024 @0900am

Area: Peachland Forest Service Road, past Greata Camp, on the way to the Headwaters

Temperature: 12C

Weather: Cloudy

Visibility: Perfect

Conditions: A perfect Fall day until!

Observations: Checking up on previously discovered logging ops….

Last Fall, I accidentally came across a sneaky Logging Operation off the Peachland Forest Service Road, around KM14, just past Bolivar Forest Service (previously pillaged) Road.

I called it “Bolivar South”

They got in there through out the year made horrendous piles of logs, and piles of “unusable” wood and a few spurs leading no-where.

Today I thought that I would check up on this area and see how it is faring.

It looks like they may have brought even more trees down while they were busy hauling the previosly cut piles of trees out.

So I got out and had a walk around the hood with my doggos.

Wait!

What’s that sound? That really sounds like machines again. Better investigate!

Back down to Peachland FSR, and continued a bit more down the road towards the Headwater Lakes….

Well, not to my surprise, did I find another suspicious road?

Now named “Bolivar South Part 2”.
