B’s Watershed Watch Update January 18, 2025

January 18, 2025 by Barb H

Barb Haley, Watershed Watch Chair

borrowed from FireSmartBC:

By observing the well-managed greenery and bountiful community garden of Stellat’en First Nation, it’s easy to see how FireSmart Principles can have a direct impact on community health and safety.

When we visited Stellat’en First Nation, we learned about the incredible efforts of Peter Luggi over the past 30 years and how Ed Attridge and FireSmart BC have helped accentuate his work.

From enhanced community resilience to food sovereignty, the following video dives into Peter’s efforts and shows how a FireSmart community doesn’t need to be comprised of stone and concrete—it can be green, lush, and vibrant.
