B’s Watershed Watch Update February 20, 2026

February 21, 2026 by Barb H

Barb Haley, Watershed Watch Chair

My Observations

Date: February 20, 2026 @ 1030

Area: Headwaters Road

Temperature: -3C

Weather: Sunny/clouds

Wind: Calm

Visibility: Excellent

Conditions: Spring-like, and dry…..

Observations: Did a little scouting drive, hoping to follow a logging truck into where ever they are pulling loads of logs out from.

No luck, but in a span of 6 km or so along the Headwaters Road, I saw 4! areas marked for future cutblocks!!

RIght beside the road. Is it just easy pickings for some company to clear cut more of our watershed? Or are they select logging/thinning?

Time will tell I guess…..
